Mario Kiessling, Ventus-3t, Germany flew the awkward 136km task at 113 kph which broought him across the line 1st at Varese. After a rain day yesterday the pilots were itching to get back in the air today. Mario now has 14 poiints and is in 3rd position overall behind Alberto Sironi and Yves Gerster both on 15 points.
Italians Alberto Pozzi, JS1 Giancarlo Grinza, Ventus 3F took 2nd and 3rd places. With three more race days to come there is everything to go for for all the contestants.
Again the key to success today was keeping close to the mountains and waiting for the right moment climbe to final glide height for maximum speed.
