The Mountain Gliding School has its roots in the early post-war years, when Żar became a key place for developing mountain soaring in Poland. Thanks to the unique hillside airfield and favorable mountain winds, the site quickly evolved into a national center for advanced glider training. Over the decades, many renowned Polish pilots trained here, setting records and pioneering mountain flying techniques. Today, the school continues its tradition as an iconic home of Polish soaring, combining history, innovation, and passion for flight.
